The Last Glance Before Boarding for America: Restoring Grandparents' Final Homestead Portrait Across the Ocean
Taken over half a century ago, this fragile vintage photograph captured a couple's final portrait standing before their ancestral homestead. That very afternoon, they packed their modest suitcases and boarded an ocean liner bound for America, beginning an immigrant journey that would define generations. Artist ABiao painstakingly repaired extensive silver mirroring, emulsion peeling, and chemical fading, restoring the crisp white boutonnière on Grandfather's lapel and the floral patterns of Grandmother's dress, breathing vibrant life back into a family's foundational voyage.
