ABOUT THE ARTIST

About the artist: born from love, kept for companionship

I was given my first brush at the age of eight. More than thirty years later, there is a white cat named Snowball sleeping beside the easel.

THE ROAD HERE

Thirty-odd years of painting, and the first commission taken in September 2026.

The timeline is short, but every step counts. This is the real version, including the fact that the studio has only just started.

01

Age eight: the first brush

I picked up a brush for the first time at eight, starting with simple scribbles and studying with my first teacher all the way through high school. For me, painting is a natural part of daily life and something I truly love; for decades, day in and day out, I have kept drawing whatever comes to mind to document my life.

02

After high school: industrial design

Encouraged by that teacher, I applied for industrial design at university. The years spent learning structure, proportion and composition became the real skeleton of every piece I make today.

03

University and after: painting my own pets

At university I fell in love with animals and started painting oil portraits of my own pets, watching their expressions for hours to get one look right. After graduating I opened a studio making creative products and creative products, and kept painting throughout.

04

September 2026: BIGBROSTUDIO opens

The first time I opened this work up to commissions. The studio is new, so every piece is currently made by the artist himself — no production line, no stand-ins.

I would rather not hide the fact that this is a young studio. It means that if you commission now, your piece is made start to finish by the artist, not passed down a production line.

THE STUDIO CAT

Snowball: the quietest company in the studio

Snowball is a white stray cat I adopted into the studio. I can sit at the easel or the screen for hours, and she simply lies beside me, never interrupting.

She is not decoration — she is part of the studio. I have painted many pets, and every one of those pieces carries the patience she gave me.

QUESTIONS

About the artist and the studio

These come up most often. If your question is not here, add it to the notes on the order page and we will answer it directly.

How much painting experience does ABiao have?

He has painted since the age of eight and holds more than 30 years of traditional painting experience. He studied industrial design at university and currently leads every pet portrait and photo restoration commission at BIGBROSTUDIO.

When was BIGBROSTUDIO founded?

The studio opened for commissions in September 2026. We would rather say this plainly: the studio is new, so every piece is currently made by the artist himself, with no production line and no stand-ins.

Who is Snowball?

Snowball is a white stray cat adopted into the studio. She rests beside the easel while the artist works, is a key source of inspiration, and is the reason the studio gives to stray animals at all.

How does the stray animal commitment work?

5% of the amount paid on every order is used to buy pet food for stray animals around the studio. It is a standing rule rather than a one-off campaign; if the percentage ever changes, it will be updated on the terms page.

Can the finished artwork be used for commercial purposes?

Personal use is fully included: High-resolution digital files include lifetime personal rights (personal collection, home canvas printing, social avatars, and sharing).

Commercial use & copyright transfer: Upon full payment without dispute, all economic copyrights and digital assets of the finished commission are transferred 100% to you for commercial reproduction, merchandise, or marketing. Note: Customers are solely responsible for ensuring that the original submitted photo does not infringe third-party portrait rights, trademarks, or proprietary copyrights.

What kind of photo do I need for a pet portrait?

A front-facing photo with natural light and clear features is usually enough, and phone photos are fine. If the photo cannot support the result you want, we will tell you honestly before we start.
