Frequently asked questions
Last updated: 23 September 2026
These are the questions we are asked most often about custom pet portraits and professional photo restoration. If yours is not here, add it to the notes on the order page and we will answer it directly.
Pricing and packages
How much does a custom pet portrait cost?
The Essential Digital package starts at $9.99 (regular $19.99), Social Pack is $14.99, Print & Gift is $24.99 and Collector's Edition is $39.99. The final price depends on the package, the number of subjects and the delivery speed, and is confirmed before payment.
How are multiple pets or a group photograph priced?
The package price includes the first subject. Each additional subject adds $7 (Essential), $9 (Social), $12 (Print & Gift) or $15 (Collector's). Ordering together costs less than ordering separately.
What does rush delivery cost?
Standard 7-day delivery is included. Priority 48 hours adds $4.99, Express 24 hours adds $9.99 and 12-hour delivery adds $19.99. Rush options pause when capacity is full, and we will tell you in advance.
Ordering and delivery
How long until I receive the finished piece?
The order page shows the standard 7-day or selected 48 / 24 / 12-hour delivery target, and the system schedules the preview approval deadline before it. Final delivery remains conditional on completed payment; source-file, approval or payment delays will be recorded in the order or explained by email.
Do I pay first, or see the result first?
You see the result first. After you submit the request and photo, we assess it and prepare a preview or restoration direction. You can confirm or request changes before the approval deadline. If we receive no reply by then, the order moves to payment under the Terms of Service without an automatic charge. High-resolution files without watermarks are not released before payment.
What if I am not happy with the result? Are orders refundable after payment?
[Before Payment · Risk-Free Preview] Submitting a commission requires $0 upfront. Once your artwork is drawn, the artist will send a private link with a watermarked draft for review, with complimentary minor revisions. No payment is required until you are satisfied; you may cancel anytime before payment at zero financial cost.
[After Payment · Digital Delivery Non-Refundable] Every piece is an individually commissioned bespoke artwork involving extensive manual craftsmanship. Once you approve the draft, complete payment, and unlock the watermark-free ultra-HD files, the digital commission is deemed fully delivered and is strictly non-refundable under all circumstances.
Do I receive a physical item, and can I print it myself?
No physical item is shipped. You receive high-resolution digital files, so there is no international shipping and no customs handling. You can print, frame or send the file to a print shop yourself, and personal-use printing needs no extra licence.
Photo requirements
What photo do I need for a custom pet portrait?
A front-facing photo with natural light and clear features is enough, and phone photos usually work. If the photo cannot support the result you want, we will tell you before starting.
How should I submit a photograph for restoration?
A scan of the original print is best, or a flat, glare-free, sharply focused high-resolution photograph of it. Do not use versions that have been beautified, sharpened or compressed by social apps, and tell us the relationship, era and details to preserve.
Can you work with a blurry or damaged photo?
Send it in for assessment first. Limited sharpness reduces the ceiling of what detail can be recovered. We will say honestly what is achievable and will not promise detail that is not present in the original.
Photo restoration
Can missing parts of an old photograph be fully restored?
If the original information no longer exists, we will not present invented detail as fact. We can suggest restrained artistic restoration, and we will explain in advance what is a restoration suggestion rather than the original photograph.
Will you add medals or uniform details to a veteran's photo?
Not without evidence. Uniform, insignia, rank and service history are handled only from the original photograph or verifiable material supplied by the family. Anything that cannot be confirmed is not invented.
The artist and how the work is made
How much painting experience does ABiao have?
The artist has painted since the age of eight and holds more than 30 years of traditional painting experience. He studied industrial design at university and currently leads all pet portrait and photo restoration work.
When was BIGBROSTUDIO founded?
The studio opened for commissions in September 2026. The studio is new, so every piece is currently made by the artist himself, with no production line and no stand-ins.
What role does craftsmanship and technology play?
Every portrait follows an artist-led digital craftsmanship process: lighting analysis, classical composition, hand-refined digital brushwork, and rigorous human inspection.
Who is Snowball?
Snowball is a white stray cat adopted into the studio. She rests beside the easel while the artist works and is a key source of inspiration for the studio.
How does the stray animal commitment work?
5% of the amount paid on every order is set aside for pet food to feed stray animals around the studio. This is a standing commitment rather than a one-off campaign; if the percentage ever changes it will be updated on the terms page.
Privacy and licensing
Will my photographs be published?
They are private by default. Nothing is published to a portfolio, social channel or advertisement without separate consent, and consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Can I use the finished piece commercially?
Personal use is fully included: High-resolution digital files include lifetime personal rights (personal collection, home canvas printing, social avatars, and sharing).
Commercial use & copyright transfer: Upon full payment without dispute, all economic copyrights and digital assets of the finished commission are transferred 100% to you for commercial reproduction, merchandise, or marketing. Note: Customers are solely responsible for ensuring that the original submitted photo does not infringe third-party portrait rights, trademarks, or proprietary copyrights.
